The Registration link that opens on April 12 is only for NEW families! Please read through the following for registration instructions:
Families new to our Program should click on the link at the left of this page to access the online registration form. After you complete the online form, our office will be notified and we will review the application. Once we check the information provided, you will receive an automated email from Parish Giving with login credentials for an account that was created for you. To complete registration, sign into your account to verify student information, make a payment, and select a session for your child/ren.
If you are a returning family, please do NOT use the new family registration link. Instead, you should receive an email from Parish Giving on the morning of April 8th for Summer session families or April 9th for Fall session families. This email will contain login credentials for a Parish Giving account that was created for you. There is no need for you to create a Parish Giving account. If you do not receive this automated email on opening day, check your spam folder and if it's not there, then contact Barb Kane at 609-267-6319.
Please be aware that a late fee of $25 will be assessed if you do not register by July 1, 2024.
General Information for 2024-2025
All families registering children in our program must be parishioners of Sacred Heart.
All new registrations must be accompanied by a copy of the baptismal certificate, and any additional sacramental records/prior Religious Education records if applicable (i.e., if the student is new to our program and beyond 1st grade).
Classes meet in person on Tuesdays each week from 5:30-6:45pm. Classes will begin in October and will continue EVERY Tuesday through the first week of May.
Our intensive summer session will run from July 22 through August 2, 2024 AND once a month on a Monday during the school year (typically the first Monday of November, January, February, March and April). Classes will be held in person and meet from 8-11 am, and families must adhere and commit to our strict attendance policy. **Please note that at this time, class space is very limited. We are seeking additional volunteers to become catechists (7th and 8th grade), aides, and hall monitors, so please contact our office if you are interested in joining our team.
For 2024-2025, we will continue to offer our Family Program session on a limited basis (ie. for those who have completed requirements in previous years or those with extenuating circumstances). The option is home-based but includes 5 mandatory in-person family meetings and will involve the family in the child's faith formation. Families will need to contact the Religious Education Office and be approved in order to register for this option. This program runs from September through May and only available to children entering 3-7 grade. NOTE - this program is NOT an option for 1st grade or 2nd and 8th grade (Sacramental years).
Our program uses the textbook series 'Alive in Christ,' published by Our Sunday Visitor. We also use the RCL Benziger 'Family Life' program as mandated by Bishop O'Connell.
For adults and teenagers who wish to become Catholic or continue their Religious Education to culminate in receiving Sacraments, we offer an RCIA program. Please click the RCIA link on this page for more information!
For specific information about each program and about our sacramental celebrations, please see the links on the left side of the screen.
If you have any questions, please contact our office. Thank you and may God bless you on your journey of faith with your child!
Mrs. Barbara Kane
Coordinator of Religious Education
