Saint Vincent de Paul Society
14th Annual
The Friends of the Poor Walk/Run
Saturday, September 30, 2023 (Rain or Shine)
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Hainesport Walking Trail, Marne Highway, Hainesport
The Friends of the Poor Walk/Run began as a national program with the purpose of providing local Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conferences the additional funds to help support their special works projects. Today, that philosophy continues, with Conferences using the funds from this event to help local people living in poverty.
To register online as a walker or to make a donation, follow this link:
https://fopwalk.org/event/2926
Click on either the “Register to Walk” button or the “Donate to Event” button. Note: Registration must be done on-line. Sponsor and waiver forms are available on the website and will need to be completed online.
This year, St. Vincent de Paul at the National level has partnered with PayPal to facilitate the processing of on-line donations. This was done to allow conferences quicker access to donated funds as opposed to waiting months for each conference to receive the funds which has been the past procedure. If you already have a PayPal account, you can login to that account and follow the prompts. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can donate as a “guest.” If you don’t feel comfortable using this method, donations will be accepted at the event or can be mailed to: St. Vincent de Paul, 260 High Street, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060. Checks should be made payable to St. Vincent de Paul. Please indicate “FOP” on the check!
Please contact Kathy Weilbacker at 609-847-9885 ([email protected]) or Lorraine DiGiacomo at 609-351-0047 ([email protected]) for more information. We invite you to join us in helping our local people living in poverty. Thank you!

Pope Francis has called for all Catholics to unite in prayer with him and the bishops of the world as he consecrates Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of our Blessed Mother.
A prayer for Ukraine
Loving God,
We pray for the people of Ukraine,
for all those suffering or afraid,
that you will be close to them and protect them.
We pray for world leaders,
for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.
We pray for the world
that in this moment of crisis,
we may reach out in solidarity
to our brothers and sisters in need.
May we walk in your ways
so that peace and justice
become a reality for the people of Ukraine
and for all the world.
Amen.
